Pacu Jalur Children Rejoice Meeting President Prabowo

Wirotirta and Aryana, two young Pacu Jalur performers, wore wide smiles as they participated in the Independence Day celebrations at Merdeka Palace to commemorate Indonesia’s 80th anniversary. Their excitement was palpable as they had the opportunity to perform before President Prabowo Subianto. Dressed in colorful traditional Malay attire, the children showcased their synchronized and energetic movements, captivating the audience and bringing the pride of regional culture to the national stage. The President’s kind gesture of clasping their small hands left the young performers feeling proud and moved. The festivities at the palace grounds included a martial arts demonstration by a pencak silat troupe, a traditional Indonesian self-defense performance by action star Iko Uwais, and the graceful Tari Payung Merah Putih (Red-and-White Umbrella Dance) that enriched the celebratory atmosphere. The cheers and applause from the spectators added to the festive spirit of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
