Andra Farizki Ramdhani, a 10th-grade student at People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta, has defied the odds despite growing up without a father. Raised by his hardworking single mother, Andra has found new opportunities through the People’s School initiative introduced by President Prabowo Subianto. This program has allowed him to pursue a proper education despite financial challenges, giving hope to children who cannot afford schooling. Andra expressed his gratitude towards President Prabowo for creating the People’s School, emphasizing how it has motivated students like him to be enthusiastic learners and contribute towards Indonesia’s progress.
Transitioning to life in a boarding school has been a significant adjustment for Andra, but he appreciates the vibrant atmosphere and camaraderie with his classmates. His days are filled with structured routines that include morning prayers, exercise, academic classes, and extracurricular activities. Despite missing his family, Andra finds solace in the friendships he has formed at SRMA 10, turning everyday moments into cherished memories.
Andra values the superior facilities and educational environment at SRMA 10, noting how the detailed explanations from teachers have enhanced his learning experience. Engaging in various extracurricular activities, including judo and youth organizations, has further enriched his education. Despite facing challenges without a father figure, Andra remains determined to pursue his ambitions, aspiring to become a judo athlete and attend Defense University (Unhan) in the future.
For Andra, his dreams are not just personal goals but also a testament to his mother’s unwavering support and prayers. He acknowledges the opportunity provided by the People’s School for underprivileged children like himself to receive quality education without additional financial burdens. Through the guidance of his teachers and the encouragement of his peers, Andra believes that his aspirations are achievable, fueled by his determination and gratitude towards the People’s School for opening doors to a brighter future.
