President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly received the Peruvian President, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The welcoming ceremony was attended by approximately 3,000 students from elementary to high school levels in the capital. President Boluarte’s motorcade, accompanied by motorcycle troops and mounted guards, made its way from the National Monument to the palace gates. Upon her arrival, President Boluarte was personally greeted by President Prabowo. Both leaders then stood on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia were played. Following the anthems, they inspected the honor guard and paid their respects to their respective national flags.
During the ceremony, President Prabowo introduced his official delegation, which included key figures from various ministries. A bilateral meeting was later held between the two heads of state to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and Peru. Peru and Indonesia are both members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a platform for economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. President Boluarte’s visit to Indonesia was a reciprocal gesture following President Prabowo’s official visit to Peru the previous year. This diplomatic exchange highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance relations between the two nations.
