President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia fondly remembers the day when he was honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on November 14, 2024. This special moment was shared by Prabowo during a press statement at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, emphasizing the strong diplomatic ties between both countries since 1975.
In return for this prestigious honor, Prabowo awarded President Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest accolade, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, in appreciation of her efforts in strengthening bilateral relations. This act symbolized the importance of continued partnership between Indonesia and Peru, paving the way for further growth and collaboration.
Furthermore, Indonesia and Peru solidified their cooperation by signing agreements across various fields such as narcotics control, combating illegal trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense. These agreements signify the commitment of both nations to work together in addressing common challenges and fostering mutual development.
