President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, appointed General Tandyo Budi as the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and also assigned six new Regional Military Command (Kodam) commanders, 20 brigade commanders, and 100 Territorial Development Battalions. He highlighted the importance of leaders leading from the front and being the first line of protection for their soldiers in dangerous situations. Prabowo stressed the need for military leaders to care for their troops as their own children, train them well, but never with cruelty. He concluded by reminding everyone of the TNI’s identity as the people’s army, born from the people, serving and defending the people, ready to die for them. The installation ceremony also saw soldiers being honored with the Bintang Sakti Medal of Honor for their outstanding integrity and service. It was a clear message from the President about the unwavering commitment of the TNI towards the people of Indonesia.
