President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia emphasized the importance of setting a good example for the newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri). During the 2025 Oath-Taking and Commissioning Ceremony in Jakarta, he called on the young officers to fully internalize their oath of office, understanding it as a solemn commitment to serve the nation and its people. Prabowo reminded them that their oath was more than just words recited formally but a pledge to uphold integrity and be ready to sacrifice for the nation.
He urged the officers to take their oath to heart, emphasizing that they had vowed to dedicate their lives and souls to Indonesia. As the supreme commander of the armed forces, he highlighted the great responsibility that now rested on their shoulders, including protecting the country’s sovereignty and the safety of its people. Prabowo also recounted Indonesia’s history of struggle for independence, stressing the importance of being prepared to face challenges and threats that may come their way.
The President warned that a strong and united Indonesia was necessary to prevent being dominated by external forces. He reminded the officers of the sacrifices made in the past to achieve independence and urged them to be ready to serve with dedication and, if needed, make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s well-being.
